MATERIALS TESTING AND ASSESSMENT
Concrete Core Sampling and Testing in Tierra del Fuego
With offices in Ushuaia and Río Grande, we mobilise to project sites throughout Tierra del Fuego.
At Costa Sur, we take cores from hardened concrete using diamond drilling for material assessment and quality control. We coordinate the site work, sampling, testing and reporting specified for each commission.
Core sampling forms part of an assessment programme defined by the professional responsible for the assessment. Before work starts, we agree on the objectives, the concrete elements to be investigated and the number of cores required.
What the service includes
The service covers mobilisation, drilling equipment and an operator, filling the core holes, compressive strength testing and a report. Our proposal sets out the included tasks and the conditions that apply to the work.
Coordination of core sampling locations.
Mobilisation of equipment and the operator.
Core sampling using diamond drilling.
Filling core holes with the specified material.
Compressive strength testing and a report within the agreed scope.
Planning the sampling work
Core sizes and sampling locations are defined for the concrete elements to be assessed. We review the available information, site access and working conditions to plan the work.
Sampling locations are coordinated with the professional responsible for the assessment. If information on reinforcement layout is needed, we can consider a separate reinforcement survey in the proposal.
Testing and reporting
Compressive strength testing provides results for the cores taken. The report must be considered alongside the assessment objectives and the characteristics of the concrete elements investigated.
We agree on the number of samples, laboratory testing and required report before arranging the site visit.
What information we need
We carry out site work across Tierra del Fuego. Send us the following information so we can prepare a proposal and plan mobilisation.
Site location and contact person.
Type of concrete element and purpose of the assessment.
Available drawings, photographs or documentation.
Planned number of samples, if already defined.
Access conditions and required date.
